One of my most popular recipes is for Hot and Melty Party Sandwiches , and when I had a brunch event to attend I decided to try something different with this delicious recipe. I took the ham and cheese and rolled them up in plain ol’ refrigerated pizza dough, and poured a brown sugar glaze on top. The result was even better than I expected. Make these for your friend who just had a baby or for Christmas morning! You can store them, uncooked, in the refrigerator for 3 days, too.
Ham and Cheese Rolls
For the rolls:
1 can refrigerated pizza dough
½ pound deli ham
11-12 slices Swiss cheese
For the glaze:
½ cup butter (1 stick)
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon seasoning salt
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Preheat oven to 375. Coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Unroll the pizza dough onto a floured surface and top with ham and cheese slices. Roll up the rectangle tightly, starting the with side closest to you. When you reach the end, pinch the seam together and flip the roll so that the seam is face down. Cut into 12 slices, approximately 1 inch wide. Place rolls in baking dish.
Next combine the butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, garlic powder, poppy seeds, and mustard in a sauce pan over medium high heat. Whisk until the butter is melted and then boil for 3 minutes. Pour evenly over the rolls.
Cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days or bake, uncovered for 25-30 minutes until golden and browned. Serve warm.
