There are a ton of recipes for fruit salad out there, from healthy to Cool Whip. I made this one up after I forgot the yogurt we were planning to go with the fruit, but I’m glad I did because we now have a new favorite. This salad is a little sweet, and the fruit looks pretty and shiny, but the deliciousness of the summer fruit shines through.
Isn’t it so pretty? I made this salad for my 10 year old’s birthday party brunch and my daughter who was helping me said, “this salad is just easy peasy.” A new fruit salad was born!
Easy Peasy Fruit Salad
ripe fruit: strawberries, grapes, peaches and blackberries (or whatever you like)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Wash and dry fruit and cut into bite sized pieces. To make the salad look pretty, toss each fruit individually with a couple of tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. Layer the fruit in a pretty glass bowl or trifle dish, with the heaviest fruit on the bottom. Berries should go on top because they will get smashed at the bottom. Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the top. Refrigerate until serving, but only for 1-2 hours or the fruit will get mushy.
